Speaking at the Alibaba Cloud Global Startup Contest — CREATE@ Speakers’ Workshop

An honour to share the stage with industry leaders at Asia Pacific University, Kuala Lumpur.

In September and October 2022, I had the privilege of being invited as a speaker for the CREATE@ Alibaba Cloud Global Startup Contest Speakers’ Workshop, held at Asia Pacific University (APU), Kuala Lumpur — sharing the stage alongside a lineup of renowned judges, industry practitioners, and seasoned speakers.

What I Shared

My session focused on blockchain technology — breaking down how the system works, what it means for businesses and startups, and where the real opportunities lie beyond the hype. The goal wasn’t to overwhelm the room with technical jargon. It was to give founders a clear, honest, and practical understanding of blockchain as a business tool — how it creates transparency, builds trust, enables decentralisation, and opens entirely new models of value exchange.

For early-stage startups especially, understanding the infrastructure behind emerging technologies isn’t optional anymore. It shapes product decisions, investor conversations, and long-term positioning.

The Programme

What made this experience genuinely meaningful wasn’t the speaking slot itself — it was the conversations that followed. Founders asking sharper questions. Ideas shifting in real time. That exchange of knowledge, across disciplines and industries, is exactly the kind of environment where real growth happens.
