We got the Malaysia Book of Record – Biggest 3D Perceptual Art Using Plastic Bottles

Official signing ceremony with YB Senator Dato’ Sri Ti Lian Ker.

We started from zero. No template, no precedent to follow, no guarantee it would work. Just a team that believed in the idea enough to show up every day and figure it out.

Where It Started

The idea was bold by any measure — create Malaysia’s Biggest 3D Perceptual Art Installation using plastic bottles, not just as a visual spectacle, but as a CSR campaign with a genuine message. Spread love. Build community. Show that creativity and conscience can occupy the same space.

As Organising Chairman of the Stay Strong Spread the Love campaign, this project sits in a different category from everything else in this portfolio. It wasn’t a client brief. It was a conviction.

The Reality of Making It Happen

Three months of planning. Twenty-two days of physical construction. Over 1,000 hours of combined work. Around 40 team members — volunteers, committee members, partners — all moving toward the same thing.

In those three months there was sweat. There were arguments. Frustration that spilled over into long nights. Moments where the momentum stalled and someone had to find a reason to keep going. That’s the part that doesn’t make it into the photographs, but it’s the part that actually built the team.

We started from zero. We finished as record holders.

The Milestone

The completed installation was officially recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records — cementing Stay Strong Spread the Love as a genuine landmark moment in Malaysian community art and CSR history.

The launch ceremony was officiated by YB Senator Dato’ Sri Ti Lian Ker, and held at Paradigm Mall, Petaling Jaya, whose generous venue sponsorship made the scale of the project possible.

Deep gratitude to JCIKL (Junior Chamber International Kuala Lumpur) — the committees, members, and volunteers who showed up with their hands and their hearts to build something none of us could have done alone. To every sponsor, media partner, donor, and supporter who believed in this before there was anything to show — thank you.

What It Left Behind

A record. A memory. And a reminder that creative work at its best isn’t just about what looks good — it’s about what it means, who it brings together, and what it quietly says to everyone who stops to look.

We can’t help everyone. But everyone has the ability to help someone.

That was the whole point.
