Submarine Scorpene II Restaurant exterior branding design and immersive submarine-themed restaurant concept in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

Submarine Scorpene II is a submarine-themed restaurant concept inspired by Malaysia’s first Scorpène-class submarines — a symbol of national strength, engineering ambition, and quiet pride. The creative challenge was to build a brand identity that matched the boldness of that concept, and a physical environment that made guests feel it the moment they arrived.
The Logo
Every element of the mark was designed with intention. The outer steering wheel is composed of forks and spoons — merging nautical navigation with culinary hospitality in a single gesture. The circular ring and yellow dot details reference submarine hatch doors, bolts, and industrial engineering, lending the identity an authentic nautical-mechanical character. At its core, the logo tells one cohesive story: an ocean voyage, a culinary journey, and a nod to Malaysian heritage — all in one symbol.
The Brand World
The identity system extends beyond the logo into a fully immersive brand experience. The building and interior architecture follow the submarine form — curved, layered, and detail-rich — creating a dining environment that feels genuinely unlike anywhere else. Menus, signage, tableware, and collateral all carry the same design language, ensuring the brand is consistent from the exterior facade to the final course.
The Concept
Submarine Scorpene II positions itself at the intersection of Asian cuisine and ocean exploration — not as a gimmick, but as a genuine narrative that gives the dining experience meaning and memorability. Guests aren’t just eating. They’re embarking.
